Williams Racing Unveils FW47 with Star-Studded Debut at Silverstone, Paving the Way for a Promising 2025

The Grove-based team, Atlassian Williams Racing, recently unveiled their new 2025 challenger, the FW47, with an on-track debut taking place on Friday, February 14.

Drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz shared driving duties, enjoying an initial experience with this year’s car. Williams invited partners, media, and 47 dedicated Williams fans from around the world, selected from over 17,000 competition entrants.

Atlassian made its first appearance on the car with a unique one-off design. The official 2025 race livery is set to be revealed at the F1 75 Live Launch at London’s O2 Arena on February 18. This partnership marks the largest in Williams’ 48-year history and reinforces their mission to return to the grid’s forefront.

James Vowles, team principal, expressed immense pride: “The first run of the FW47 represents tens of thousands of hours of work. It symbolizes the progress we are making at Atlassian Williams Racing. We debuted the car on live television with our impressive new driver lineup and outstanding title partner, Atlassian. There is much to anticipate in 2025, and I am eager to start racing next month.”

Dave Robson, Chief Engineer, noted: “The FW47 launched at Silverstone, allowing us to shakedown the new car and ensure the systems function as intended.”

Carlos Sainz commented on the day: “The first 100 kilometers in the FW47 are completed smoothly. We executed the entire run plan without issues, and I got a great initial feel for the car. It was a bold move from Williams to showcase the first lap of this new vehicle to our partners, media, and fans, and it went exceptionally well. Great work to everyone at Grove – now we’re prepared for the season.”

“I’m really happy,” shared Alex Albon. “Today’s weather made the car feel great, and we had a reliable performance, putting on an excellent show for our partners and fans. I’m hopeful that everyone enjoyed the event. Roll on Bahrain.”
