These terms apply when you use wantage.com, list a business or club, send us an event, or buy a Featured listing. By using the site you agree to them.

Using the guide
wantage.com is a free, independent guide to businesses, clubs, events and places in Wantage, Grove and the surrounding villages. We work to keep it accurate, but details such as opening hours, prices and event times can change without us knowing. Please check with the business or organiser before you travel or book.
Listings and events describe other people’s businesses and activities. We don’t provide or recommend their services, and any arrangement you make is between you and them. A “Details checked” label means the details were confirmed on the date shown, not that we vouch for the business.
Listings
- A standard listing is free, and we don’t charge to add, correct or remove one.
- Anyone can suggest a listing. We check submissions before they go live, and we may edit them for accuracy and consistency, or decline them.
- If you manage a listing, you are responsible for keeping its details accurate, and you must only claim a listing for a business or group you represent.
- We may remove a listing that is closed, misleading, unlawful, or that we can no longer confirm.
Events and other submissions
When you send us a listing, event, photo or correction, you confirm that it is accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it isn’t unlawful, offensive or spam. You let us publish it, edit it and use it on the site and in the newsletter. We may decline or remove any submission.
Featured listings
- Featured is an optional paid upgrade for businesses. The price and what’s included are shown on the For businesses page when you buy.
- Payment is taken by Stripe once a year. Your plan renews automatically each year until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time: press “Update this listing” on your listing, sign in with the link we email you, and tick “Cancel Featured”. Your plan then continues to the end of the year you have paid for and does not renew.
- If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we will refund it in full.
- Featured listings are always labelled. Paying for Featured never changes other businesses’ listings, the order of search results beyond Featured placement, or anything we write in our guides.
- If we have to remove a Featured listing because it breaks these terms, we won’t refund the remaining period. If we stop offering Featured, we will refund any unused time.
Content and copyright
The text, design and photographs on wantage.com belong to us or to the people who took them, unless stated otherwise. You may share links to any page. Please ask before copying our content elsewhere.
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email us with the page address and details, and we will look into it promptly.
Links to other websites
We link to businesses, organisers and other websites for your convenience. We aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
Our liability
We provide the guide free of charge and on an “as is” basis. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss caused by relying on information on the site, or by the services of a listed business or organiser. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and changes to Featured terms will not affect a period you have already paid for. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
