Williams Racing has submitted a scoping opinion to the Vale of White Horse District Council regarding its site in Grove, aiming to expand its operations. As part of the scheme, the plans include constructing a new factory, technology and testing facilities, office spaces, staff amenities, and increasing car parking with a combination of surface and decked parking.
This scoping opinion is an initial step before a full planning application. According to planning documents, Williams Racing intends to apply for detailed planning permission to refurbish and enhance its manufacturing and operations capabilities at its current Grove headquarters.
The existing facilities house offices, R&D departments, manufacturing units, and a wind tunnel, along with experience and heritage centers. The site also features vast lawn areas, one of which includes a helipad, and parking facilities for approximately 800 staff and visitor cars.
The new development at the Williams Racing Grove Campus will involve phased modernisation and expansion to boost the existing manufacturing and operations. This will entail larger factory spaces, advanced technology and testing facilities, new office accommodations, and improved staff facilities. Additionally, the project will add around 250 car parking spaces and is expected to create approximately 300 new jobs.
