The vehicle was discovered by police left in a layby near Faringdon late last night, Thursday, April 24.
Upon checking the seemingly abandoned car, officers found it had several legal issues: no valid tax since August last year, missing MOT certification, and inadequate insurance. Despite these concerns, ANPR checks revealed that the car had been on the roads regularly since August.
The officers decided to seize the car and remove it from the road to ensure public safety.
Members of the Thames Valley Police rural crime taskforce were actively patrolling areas within the Vale of White Horse and West Oxfordshire, including Faringdon, when they encountered the vehicle.
