Thames Valley Police swiftly responded to reports of a disturbance in Wantage town centre at approximately 10:45 PM last night.
The event led to four arrests, with one individual needing hospital care for minor injuries. Authorities are currently seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police stated: “We received a call just before 10:45 PM last night (April 25) regarding a stabbing incident in Market Place, Wantage. A group was reportedly engaged in a fight in the town centre before they dispersed from the location.
“Officers are actively investigating this occurrence, and four arrests have been made. The arrested individuals include:
- A 21-year-old man from Wantage, detained on charges of affray and possession of a class A controlled substance.
- A 30-year-old man without a fixed address, apprehended for affray, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and drink driving.
- A 25-year-old man from Oxford, arrested for affray, robbery, and possession of a class A controlled substance.
- A 20-year-old man from Oxford, taken into custody on suspicion of affray and carrying a bladed article in a public space.
“All arrested individuals remain in police custody at this time.”
