Last night, Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime team conducted operations across the Vale of White Horse and West Berkshire, focusing on the area surrounding Wantage. Officers took particular interest in a 4×4 vehicle spotted near Childrey.
In light of recent poaching incidents in the region, authorities performed a search of the vehicle and its driver under Section 2 of the Poaching Prevention Act. Thankfully, no incriminating evidence was found during this inspection.
Further patrols identified suspicious vehicles operating in fields near East Challow. To enhance their surveillance and ensure all areas were thoroughly monitored, the team employed a drone to scrutinize the adjacent fields. Additionally, crime prevention advice was provided to a local yard owner to bolster security measures.
