St John’s CE Academy, located in Grove near Wantage, embarked on an exciting development project last year with the construction of a secondary site, as part of its phased educational expansion strategy.
The newly planned site will serve students from years seven to 11 and is conveniently situated within walking distance of the academy’s primary site, which opened its doors in 2023.
The leadership team at St John’s CE Academy shared their enthusiasm: “The community response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are grateful for the enthusiasm and support we have received so far.
“We are committed to developing strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the wider community, working together to provide the best possible education and opportunities for our students.”
The project, with a total investment of £28.2 million, aims to deliver a “state-of-the-art” educational environment, with completion expected by February 2026.
Due to the scheduled completion midway through the academic year, the first group of year seven students will begin their secondary school journey at the existing primary site starting this September.
The school has made arrangements to accommodate the 120 year seven students in the primary building’s northern wing, utilizing unoccupied space featuring eight large classrooms, along with dedicated facilities including playing fields, social areas, and a dining hall.
The leadership further commented: “We are thrilled to announce that St John’s CE Academy is already oversubscribed for our first year seven intake, a fantastic milestone that reflects the trust and confidence families have in our vision.
“As we continue to grow, we remain guided by our core belief that education should help every child ‘live life in all its fullness’.
“We look forward to building a school where students are inspired, supported, and encouraged to grow, flourish, and fly together.”
