Wantage.com is a community-run website established in 1997 to provide information about the charming market town of Wantage, Grove, and the neighboring villages. Our aim was to create an engaging and sustainable website for the community, combining the existing information with new content. As founders, Christian Noll and I worked tirelessly to achieve this goal without relying on any public funding.
We are happy to report that our objectives have been met over the years, as evidenced by the positive feedback from our users. The Wantage Business Directory is the primary source of our income, and it continues to support the day-to-day running of the website. Additionally, it enables us to sponsor other local websites, such as Wantage and Grove Foodbank (https://www.wantageandgrovefoodbank.org.uk), The October Club (https://www.octoberclub.org.uk), and Wantage and Grove Church Partnership (https://www.wgcp.org.uk).
In 2017, Wantage Town Council launched their version of this website, Love Wantage, which essentially offers the same services. Since then, the council heavily promotes their website, but we remain committed to providing our own unique and valuable resources to the community.
