Discover East Hendred's rich history at Champs Chapel Heritage Centre.
Champs Chapel, originally built in 1453 for Carthusian monks, now houses a fascinating selection of East Hendred Heritage Trust's collection of village artefacts, pictures, documents, books, and photographs. Most of these exhibits can be viewed on computer, even if not on display.
The 19th century village fire engine is separately housed, providing a rare glimpse into the village's firefighting history.
General admission is free, but donations are most welcome. As we heavily rely on public support to operate, your contributions aid in preserving our village's significant heritage.
