Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Rural Crime Taskforce encountered an individual parked in a rural area near Wantage today (February 1). Upon approaching, they immediately detected a strong smell of cannabis.
The individual was searched and was given a Community Resolution, a way to handle minor offenses outside of court. As part of the resolution, he is required to complete an online drugs education course.
During their patrol, the officers were monitoring hare coursing activities in the Wantage area and have stated they will continue their patrols throughout the weekend. If you witness any hare coursing activities taking place, please call 999 immediately.
