Gold Medal Inspiration: Olympian Hollie Pearne-Webb Engages Pupils at Fitzwaryn School

Pupils at Fitzwaryn School were thrilled to meet Olympic gold and bronze medallist Hollie Pearne-Webb.

As the captain of Team GB’s women’s hockey team, she shared her inspiring journey to Olympic success with the students, emphasizing the importance of dedication, resilience, and teamwork. Her visit provided an exciting opportunity for the pupils to see some of her medals firsthand.

In the school hall, Ms. Pearne-Webb led engaging team-building activities that focused on enhancing collaboration and communication skills among the students.

The event was organized by Persimmon Homes, a proud partner of Team GB, and the company responsible for the Valley Park development in Didcot. Paul Curry, head of training for Persimmon Homes, expressed his delight in facilitating the visit: “It was a real pleasure to make this visit happen for the students at Fitzwaryn School – the staff show exceptional dedication in supporting these young adults to develop their independence.”

He continued, “We were thrilled to collaborate with them and Team GB to inspire the students to participate. As a major developer in both Wantage and Didcot, Persimmon takes its responsibility to these communities very seriously, demonstrating our commitment through charitable schemes and partnerships with local schools and young people. Joining in activities with Hollie and the pupils was a great experience, and we would love to support them again in the future.”
