Embracing the Holiday Spirit: Vale & Downland Museum Welcomes Families with Festive Delight

The festive spirit was in full swing at the Vale and Downland Museum on Saturday, December 7, as Father Christmas made a delightful appearance to the joy of children and families.

Each child who visited Father Christmas received a charming gift, making the experience even more magical. This year, the museum also introduced a thoughtful addition—a dedicated ‘quiet hour’ specifically designed for children with additional needs. During this session, the museum and cafe were closed to the general public to ensure a calm and supportive atmosphere. All videos and interactive displays were paused, and only essential lighting remained on, fostering an environment that was welcoming for children who benefit from quieter settings.

Father Christmas also brought holiday cheer to the Wantage Dickensian Evening in the town centre on Friday, December 6. The event was a bustling celebration of the season with festive music provided by the Hendred Ukulele Group, adding a lively soundtrack to the evening.
