Since October, the station, which operates 24 hours a day, has responded to an impressive 65 incidents, showcasing the unwavering commitment and hard work of its dedicated crew.
According to an official update, the recent storms sweeping across the UK have significantly contributed to the uptick in emergency callouts. The local team faced a variety of situations, ranging from animal and human rescues to numerous fire-related emergencies, demonstrating the broad scope of their services.
Wide Range of Incidents
The Wantage Fire Service attended a range of fire scenarios, including burning vehicles, garden and domestic fires, a chimney fire, and one involving a heavy goods vehicle (HGV). These incidents highlight the challenges that can arise in both residential and commercial contexts.

Flood-related incidents, including internal and external flooding, required urgent intervention, with the team even rescuing stranded individuals from a vehicle engulfed by water. Additional emergencies included managing a seriously leaking fuel vehicle, responding to alarms, handling road traffic collisions, and assisting the South Central Ambulance Service within Oxfordshire.
