Imogen Fewster, representing the Wantage Silver Band, achieved a remarkable accolade by winning the Jonathan Bound Memorial Cup at the Welsh Open Brass Band Entertainment Championship on February 15.
The band proudly stated, “While we had hoped to finish a little higher, we are immensely proud of our performance. Especially, Solo Baritone Imogen Fewster’s achievement in winning the Best Baritone award in memory of Jonathan Bound is commendable. This marks her third individual award since last year, a truly impressive feat.”
The event organizers further shared, “The new memorial award was bestowed for the first time on Saturday to Imogen Fewster, Solo Baritone of Wantage Silver Band. Jonathan was a highly respected and beloved figure in the Welsh brass band movement, often participating in this contest. We are honored that his family and friends have donated this cup to us, ensuring his legacy continues each year.”
