Founded in 1246, Wantage Market draws hundreds of residents every Wednesday and Saturday to the bustling Market Place. The last market of the summer took place recently on Saturday, September 27, showcasing a variety of local vendors, including The Heritage Bakery, Island Soapery, Biltomm’s Biltong, Art by F James, Harry’s Tipsy Mare, Colin Lovell Shoes, Greek Delicatessen, Nesso Gifts, and Toddingtons Dog Treats.

Wantage Town Council commends the markets as a “staple” for weekly treats, contributing vibrancy to the town. A council spokeswoman expressed, “The Wantage Market is a staple for your weekly essentials – and a treat or two. Every Wednesday and Saturday, Market Place becomes a vibrant hub, with local traders offering their best produce, handmade crafts, and delicious food.”
