On February 9 of this year, William Jacobsen, aged 32, was stopped on Burnand Street while operating an electric scooter and subsequently charged with driving under the influence of cannabis. Jacobsen, who resides in West Challow near Wantage, pleaded guilty at Sefton Magistrates’ Court to driving a motor vehicle while exceeding the legal limit for drug consumption.
Jacobsen’s blood test results revealed he had 7 milligrams (mg) of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)—the active ingredient in cannabis—in his system, well above the legal limit of 2mg. In court, it was reported that Jacobsen was fined £180 and ordered to pay £192 in costs and a surcharge. He also received a 12-month driving ban as part of the ruling.
