Wantage Festival Shines with Global Flavors, Live Music & Community Spirit!

The event, held on Sunday, July 6, in the Market Place, attracted large crowds and received glowing reviews from organizers and attendees alike.

A spokesperson from Wantage Town Council, which organized the event, shared their excitement: “We were thrilled to see so many people come out to enjoy the festival. It was a brilliant mix of food, music, and community, and we’re so proud of how the event is growing. A huge thank you to everyone that attended and to our volunteers that kept everything running smoothly. See you all again next year.”

Having taken place annually for several years, the festival has become a staple in the town’s calendar. Crowds enjoyed a vibrant array of international street food, including Persian, Greek, and Mexican cuisine, as well as British favorites.

Charlotte Roy, the first vegan chef to reach the quarter-finals of MasterChef UK 2024, hosted three live demonstrations throughout the day, sharing her secrets for making plant-based Dim Sum. Visitors also sampled craft beers, cider, and a variety of soft drinks from local producers.

Entertainment included live music from the Wantage Silver Band and a popular Mariachi group. There was also a range of free children’s activities, including face painting and balloon twisting.
