Officers have noted that Wantage town centre has been experiencing issues with anti-social behaviour from a small group of individuals. To combat this, the Wantage and Grove neighbourhood team is taking proactive steps to protect the community.
As part of these efforts, six acceptable behaviour contracts have been issued in Wantage. These agreements are voluntary and are designed to encourage better behaviour and prevent future problems. Additionally, a community protection warning has been given, which outlines specific behaviours that must cease to avoid more severe legal consequences.
A spokesperson for the force emphasized their commitment to maintaining Wantage as a safe and welcoming area for all residents. The statement read, “We will not tolerate this type of behaviour, and further enforcement action will be taken if it persists.”
