Polly Neate, Chief Executive of Shelter, has sharply criticized the government’s handling of the issue. She condemned placing displaced families in unsanitary and substandard accommodations such as Bed & Breakfasts or hostel rooms, emphasizing the physical and emotional toll it takes on families and children. Neate also noted the adverse health effects and trauma caused by such conditions.
