Police have reported a serious accident involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and a pedestrian on the A417 Mably Way, situated between Denchworth Road and Grove Road, occurring around 8:50 am on September 1.
Tragically, a 60-year-old woman from Wantage lost her life at the scene. The motorcyclist involved remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The next of kin of the deceased have been notified and are currently receiving support from specially trained officers. As of now, no arrests have been made.
Sergeant Ruan Brink from the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit stated, “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who tragically lost her life in this incident. I urge anyone in the vicinity at the time to check any dash-cam footage they may have, as it could contain crucial details about the collision or the events leading up to it.”
