The driver of a grey Vauxhall Corsa seen in the Wantage and Grove area on Monday night, July 28, was disqualified from driving, according to police reports.
When police and the driver spotted each other, the Corsa reportedly sped away. However, police officers later located the car deep into the night, “hidden away.”
Images from the scene showed the car being taken away on the back of a lorry.
A police spokesperson stated: “While out on patrol last night (28/07), officers from the Wantage and Grove Neighbourhood Team spotted a vehicle being driven by a known disqualified driver.
“The driver chose to evade police, but we were determined to locate the vehicle before it could cause any harm.
“Despite the time being well past the end of our shift, we continued our efforts and soon discovered the vehicle hidden away. It has now been safely recovered.
“Unfortunately for the driver, we know our local figures all too well and know exactly who you are. We’ll be seeing you very soon to address the offences committed.”
