The owner of a vehicle featured in the film Fast X (2023) proudly showcased their car at the Grove Classics Car, Truck, and Bike Show on Saturday, July 8. Held for the second year running at Grove Rugby Football Club, the event gathered an impressive 8,000 to 10,000 attendees despite challenging weather conditions.
Event organizer Mike Hissey expressed his amazement at the popularity of the vehicle, stating, “It was awesome and proved really popular. I couldn’t believe it was there.” The show wasn’t limited to cars—motorbikes and around 13 trucks were also on display, including standout entries like the ‘Las Vegas Dream’ and ‘Lost Time,’ owned by K.M. Commercials in Aylesbury. Additionally, visitors got to witness the quirky World’s Fastest Shed, a shed-turned-vehicle that has broken the world land speed record for sheds on three separate occasions.
The event also featured a selection of food offerings, including burgers and kebabs served from fast-food vans. Local bands provided entertainment throughout the day, though live music ended earlier than planned due to storm-related flooding near the stage area.
Mr. Hissey extended his gratitude to local businesses for their support, emphasizing the significance of their contributions in fostering a welcoming atmosphere. He also commented on the dedication of attendees, stating, “A lot of people stayed even when the weather was poor, but everyone came out when the sun appeared.”
The show was a resounding success, raising £5,250 for charity. The proceeds will be shared among the Grange Care Centre in Stanford in the Vale, Sobell House hospice in Oxford, and Action on Postpartum Psychosis, a charity providing vital support to families affected by the condition.
