Disqualified Driver’s ‘Bold Move’ Lands Them in Court After Being Caught by Wantage Police

A van driver is scheduled to appear in court after making what police described as a “bold move.”

Police officers in the Wantage and Grove area stopped a white Ford Transit on Friday, August 22, after it raised suspicion. Subsequent checks revealed that the driver was allegedly disqualified from driving and lacked insurance, road tax, and a valid MOT.

The vehicle was seized and transported away on the back of a lorry. The driver, whose name has not been disclosed, is expected to appear in court at a future date.

A police spokesperson commented, “On August 22, the driver of this white van took a spin while disqualified—no insurance, tax, or MOT. Bold move.

“They thought they could give us the slip.

“We know our community. We know who you are.

“See you in court.”

In the UK, driving while disqualified may lead to a fine, six penalty points, a community order, extended disqualification, or even imprisonment for up to six months.
