Charlton Lodge, a modern and spacious residential care home set to open in October, is launching a unique initiative to honour the unsung heroes within its community. The scheme is designed to highlight and applaud those individuals or organisations that consistently offer outstanding contributions to others.
The winner of their dedicated competition is set to receive £300. Runners-up will also be awarded prizes—£150 and £50 for second and third place respectively.
Throwing the Spotlight on Real-Life Heroes
Mark Young, the customer relations manager at Charlton Lodge, explained the vision behind the competition. He said, “Everyone has an unsung hero in their life – the person who organises everything, is always there for whoever needs them, and never shies away from lending a helping hand.”
Continuing, Young added, “Here at Charlton Lodge, we want to say thank you to those people who consistently go above and beyond – whether they’re a volunteer at a local charity, a leader at a community group, or simply a friend who always goes the extra mile. We’re inviting locals to share their story so we can say thank you with a well-deserved treat. We can’t wait to read lots of heart-warming stories.”
Nominations are Open
Recognising those who make a real difference in the local community is the core aim of this initiative. Nominations can be made by visiting the Care UK website. Entrants are required to explain in 100-400 words why their nominee deserves to be rewarded. The contest will accept nominations until 11:59 pm on October 28.
