Alfredfest, scheduled for Sunday, October 26, is set to honor Wantage’s renowned King Alfred the Great. This event promises an engaging experience for locals, history buffs, and families seeking a delightful and free day out.
Visitors can look forward to historical re-enactments, live performances, artisan stalls, craft demonstrations, and expert talks that delve into the life of King Alfred and the rich local history. The festivities include two guided walking tours through Wantage, available at 11am and 1pm. To participate, bookings are required via [email protected].
In partnership with Wildwood Kitchen, Alfredfest will feature special screenings of the film “King Alfred the Great” on Saturday, October 25, at 7.30pm, and Sunday, October 26, at 3pm. Reservations can be made by calling 01235 424327.
