The incident occurred in Prior Place, Grove, in the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday, March 13) when three men reportedly broke into a property.
After assaulting a 54-year-old man, the trio left the home empty-handed, according to Thames Valley Police.
The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated in the hospital but has since been discharged.
Currently, a 28-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and remains in police custody today (Friday, March 14).
Detective Sergeant Nathan Adby from the Abingdon Criminal Investigation Department (CID) stated, “We are continuing to investigate this aggravated burglary and have now made an arrest. However, I would still like to hear from anybody who may have CCTV, doorbell, or dash-cam footage, or believes they have any information that could assist this investigation to get in touch.
