Steventon Hill Bridge Closure: Emergency Gas Repairs Cause Disruptions Until September 18

The Steventon Hill Bridge was closed on Wednesday, September 10, owing to a gas leak and is scheduled to remain closed until Thursday, September 18. Engineers from SGN are diligently working to resolve the issue, and further details are being sought from the utility company.

Police and crime commissioner Matthew Barber stated, “Emergency gas works have necessitated the closure of the railway bridge. The emergency closure is expected to last until 18th September, but we hope it won’t be required for the full duration.”

Oxfordshire County Council, responsible for highways in the area, confirmed, “There is a road closure on the B4017 Steventon Hill between Steventon and Milton Heights due to SGN emergency works.”
