Tragic Collision Claims Life of Didcot Motorcyclist on A417 Road

The collision between the motorbike and a car occurred on the A417 Reading Road, between West Hendred and Ardington, near Wantage, at about 10pm on Thursday, June 26.

Thames Valley Police reported that the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s from Didcot, received emergency medical treatment but sadly passed away at the scene.

The motorcyclist was identified as Kestutis Juozaitis from Diamond Drive, Didcot, during an inquest opening on July 14 at the Oxford Coroner’s Court, overseen by area coroner Nicholas Graham.

The inquest revealed that the 43-year-old, originally from Lithuania and employed as a lorry driver, was traveling on his motorbike towards Didcot on the A417 when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The incident involved a Honda motorcycle and a Volkswagen Golf, with the car driver remaining unharmed.

A post-mortem indicated that Mr. Juozaitis succumbed to multiple injuries, with his death being confirmed at 11.05pm by a doctor. The full inquest date has yet to be determined.

Investigating officer PC Naomi Padgett of the joint operations roads policing unit stated: “We are investigating this incident in which a motorcyclist has died. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. We are asking anyone with information or dash-cam footage who has not already come forward to contact us.”
