Mary Elizabeth Sarah Horton of South Street, Letcombe Regis, near Wantage, passed away on May 28, 2025, at Richmond Village Care Home, Letcombe Regis.
Her death was confirmed by a nurse at 1:31 pm.
An inquest into Ms. Horton’s death was initiated by area coroner Nicholas Graham on June 19 at the local coroner’s court.
The proceedings revealed that Ms. Horton, an 89-year-old Ophthalmic Optician, had suffered a fall on April 17, leading to her hospital admission, where her condition worsened.
The cause of death has been attributed to Delirium and Subdural Hematoma, a condition involving the accumulation of blood between the skull and the brain’s surface.
Her inquest has been postponed to September 30, 2025, at 12:15 pm.
