Makespace Oxford is hosting an engaging event at The Old Stables in Wantage on Saturday, June 28, from 12 PM to 4:30 PM.
This free event promises a delightful experience featuring a community meal prepared from surplus food, live music, storytelling, speakers, and interactive art workshops.
Attendees will also enjoy a makers market highlighting the talents of local creatives and a unique Desert Island Discs-style interview with Reverend Tim Hewes, a local vicar and activist.
The Old Stables, opened three years ago by Makespace Oxford, is a vibrant community hub that transforms underused buildings into affordable studios, offices, and workspaces. This initiative supports local enterprises, particularly those focused on social good, by offering below-market rents.
Lizzie Philpott, the community coordinator, explained, “The party not only highlights the organisations and individuals who call us home but also aims to build closer connections with our local community. We want people to view us as more than just a meeting place but as a space where they can grow as a business or artist.”
