Wantage-based Jigsaw Stage Productions is set to enchant audiences with their rendition of the beloved musical, *Fiddler on the Roof*. The performances will take place at the Cornerstone in Didcot on May 23 and 24, and at the Beacon in Wantage on May 30 and 31, including Saturday matinees at both venues.
*Fiddler on the Roof* has captivated the hearts of theatre-goers worldwide since its Broadway debut in 1964, followed by its adaptation into an Oscar-winning film. Jigsaw Stage Productions will bring the vibrant tale to life, with performances scheduled in both Didcot and Wantage.
Set against the backdrop of the tiny village of Anatevka in 1905, the story follows Tevye, a Jewish milkman, and his five daughters as they navigate a world in transition. The play poignantly explores whether Tevye can maintain his traditional roots or must embrace change to fulfill his daughters’ aspirations.
After enjoying success in the West End last year, the show is poised to embark on a UK tour later this year. Jigsaw Stage Productions’ version will feature a live band, performing iconic songs such as “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Tradition,” “Matchmaker,” and “Sunrise, Sunset.”
Tickets for the Cornerstone performances are priced at £18, inclusive of ticket fees, with shows commencing at 7:45 pm. For the Beacon performances, tickets are available from the theatre, with curtain times set for 7:30 pm. Don’t miss the additional Saturday matinee shows, starting at 2:30 pm.
