Kelvin Fielding, a resident of Post Office Lane in Wantage, is currently on trial at a crown court after admitting to one count of commissioning a sexual video involving a child in Bedfordshire between November 21, 2022, and December 9, 2022.
The 63-year-old has denied committing the offence, asserting to police that the allegations are merely ‘fantasy’ and ‘lies’.
During Thursday’s trial proceedings, the jury reviewed an interview Fielding had with the police following his arrest. It was revealed that Fielding had communicated with an online account named ‘Kinky Daddy UK’ via a website called ‘Adult Friends Finder’.
Fielding explained his presence on the site, stating: “It was just a bit of titillation and fun. I never met anybody, but I guess for some people that’s the hope.” He believed the account ‘Kinky Daddy UK’ was a person of questionable nature who initiated contact.
“I was just trying to find out what he was about,” Fielding shared with the police. “I just thought he was some weirdo.”
The conversation reportedly shifted to WhatsApp, where Fielding is alleged to have claimed previous involvement in the sexual abuse of children. When questioned about this, he said, “I was just lying. It was a complete fabrication.”
The jury learned that the dialogue continued with discussions about sexual abuse. Fielding remarked on his motives, “I was curious about how far he would go with it,” and expressed that he had never engaged in such behavior before, attributing his actions to curiosity and boredom during lockdown.
He further stated, “I haven’t seen my wife because of Covid and it was just boredom and I thought, forget it, let’s do this. It was just all fabrication.”
The account purportedly sent Fielding a photograph of a young child, which Fielding allegedly labeled as ‘pretty’ and acknowledged as a ‘big kink’ of his. However, Fielding adamantly denied any sexual interest in young girls.
Fielding also reportedly inquired about the extent of abuse the account had engaged in with children, describing the interaction as “fantasy” and a “fake chat.” He confessed to not considering the potential risks involved.
The trial is ongoing.
