Appeal for Witnesses: Woman Assaulted in Broad Daylight on B4001 — Police Hunt for Suspects with Bulldog Van

Thames Valley Police reported an incident occurring near Wantage on the B4001 roadside, just past the junction with Hollborn Hill, around 1.45 pm on March 19. A victim had parked her grey Peugeot Allure when she was approached and assaulted by two men who parked their van behind her vehicle.

The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. The suspects’ van is described as white with a distinctive brown bulldog sticker on a blue background on the sliding door left side. Officers are revisiting the scene for further investigations.

Detective Inspector Richard Allmond assured the community, “I understand that this may cause concern, but we will be in the area today to carry out enquiries. Anyone with questions or concerns can speak to a uniformed officer in the area.”

The police are seeking witnesses who may have traveled down this road between 1 pm and 3 pm and might have seen anything related to the event. Those with information, including dash cam footage, can contribute by contacting the police via 101 or their website, using the crime reference number 43250134249.

A specific plea is made to another motorist driving a white van who stopped to assist the victim to come forward. Information can also be reported anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or their website.
