American Dance School recently showcased their talent on the main stage of Move It at London’s Excel arena on Friday, March 7. These dancers, aged from seven to 18, were selected through a rigorous audition process. This opportunity allowed them to perform beside some of the UK’s top performing arts institutions and notable acts, including Diversity.
The group, under the direction of Jillian Clipsham, presented a Disney-inspired performance titled “Wish.” This piece narrates the touching story of a young girl who pursues her dreams, aided by Disney characters from the past century, beautifully portrayed by the dancers.
Since its inception eight years ago, the American Dance School has garnered numerous accolades, including victories in regional competitions and participation in renowned events like the Xcite dance competition in Liverpool.
The public will have the chance to witness the talents of the American Dance School at events such as the Truck Festival, the Grove Extravaganza at Grove Rugby Club, and the Halloween nights at Millets Farm. The school provides dance training across various genres, catering to children as young as three years old. Their offerings include ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, heels, musical theatre, creative movement ballet, tumbling, and a competitive elite team.
Since its launch in 2017, the school now supports over 160 dancers, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates individuality and creativity. It encourages each student to embrace their uniqueness while mastering the art of performance.
