Walfinch, a distinguished care service based in Wantage, was honored with the Day Care Expertise Award at the 2025 Home Care Awards. These awards, organized by the Homecare Association, recognize UK companies that are making strides in enhancing care standards.
Amrit Dhaliwal, the Chief Executive of Walfinch, expressed: “This is a significant tribute to all of our carers, who consistently go above and beyond by providing not only physical care but also social and emotional support to ensure the wellbeing of our clients.”
The innovative approach of Walfinch includes offering activity sessions across the country, along with free Thrive Sessions, which feature chair yoga, arts and crafts, and fitness classes tailored to each client’s abilities and goals. Cultural engagement is emphasized too, with events like Gujarati dance and Eid celebrations enriching the activities.
Mr. Dhaliwal added, “Our Time to Thrive activities are also accessible to individuals in local communities, allowing clients and others to experience the physical, mental, and social benefits of engaging in activities and meeting new people.”
The award additionally acknowledges the expertise of Walfinch’s carers, who undergo 15 core training modules, along with 26 more on specialized topics, and have access to an additional 80 modules to advance their careers. The organization also leverages technology to minimize paperwork while ensuring accurate documentation of procedures, medications, and wellbeing notes.
Mr. Dhaliwal noted, “This is a tremendous accomplishment for our entire team, and we take great pride in winning the Home Care Awards, established in collaboration with the Homecare Association.”
