The incident unfolded when a 13-year-old boy was riding his bicycle on Harcourt Road in Wantage between 6:35 pm and 6:45 pm on Thursday, March 6.
A vehicle collided with the back of the boy, causing him to fall to the ground. The driver did not remain at the scene, although the boy sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
Thames Valley Police is currently appealing for witnesses following this hit-and-run incident in Wantage. Officers released a public appeal urging those with information to come forward. The vehicle involved in the collision is described as a black car, possibly a BMW or Audi.
Investigating officer PC Naomi Padgett of the Roads Policing Unit stated, “Thankfully, the boy was not seriously injured in this incident, but I am keen to identify the driver of the vehicle, who did not stop after the collision. I would urge this driver to please come forward and contact us on 101, using reference number 43250111741. I would also ask anybody who witnessed this collision, or who may have dash-cam footage that has captured the incident, to please get in touch.
