Revolutionizing Home Care: Amrit Dhaliwal’s New Book Unveils 12 Steps to Industry Transformation

Amrit Dhaliwal, CEO of Walfinch, has released a new book titled “Time to Thrive: The Home Care Revolution“, in which he presents his vision for the future of home care and outlines 12 essential steps to enhance the sector.

Dhaliwal hopes to encourage interest in the care sector through his new publication. He believes the book offers valuable insights for those contemplating a career or investment in home care. He adds, “This is the book I needed when I was considering getting into the sector – and the picture it reveals is one of opportunity. However, significant changes are necessary to attract more entrepreneurs, and I discuss these in detail.”

Highlighting the demand for home care services, Dhaliwal notes that nine out of ten people prefer to receive care at home when needed. He states, “If such demand existed in any other sector, we would expect a surge in investment. The population over 85—most likely needing home care—is projected to reach 3.5 million by 2048. The sector has immense potential.”

Despite the promising outlook, Dhaliwal acknowledges current challenges like insufficient funding, a shortage of carers, and a negative perception of the sector. Since entering the home care field in 2012, he remains optimistic about overcoming these obstacles.

The book proposes 12 solutions to renew the sector, aiming to make it more appealing to investors. Suggestions include reclassifying carers as professionals, pushing for systemic changes, and introducing new insurance schemes for care. It features expert contributions from Dr. Jane Townson, CEO of The Homecare Association, among others.

For aspiring business owners, the book offers guidance on establishing a home care enterprise, either through a franchise like Walfinch or independently. Moreover, all proceeds from the book will be donated to The Care Workers’ Charity.

Karolina Gerlich, CRO at The Care Workers’ Charity, expressed their gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful to Amrit for his generous support and for emphasizing the significance of the care sector in his book. Care workers provide essential support, yet their contributions often go unnoticed. Together, we can ensure that their work is recognized and celebrated.”
