The Television and Movie Store (TVM) in Wantage, a staple since 2017, is set to close its doors on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
Located in Kings Walk, Limborough Road, this retailer became a beloved spot for enthusiasts of both retro and modern collectibles. Specializing in video gaming, Lego, Pokemon, Star Wars, and classic toys, TVM joined the eBay platform in 2023 to expand its reach.
While the future of the store’s current location remains uncertain, it is anticipated that if TVM relocates, the new venue will be in a larger town or city, not Wantage.
The independent store prides itself on an “experienced” team with over 37 years of expertise in vintage toys, retro gaming, and trading cards.
A closing down sale is being offered, providing a significant opportunity for collectors and fans. Up until the closing date, customers can enjoy a substantial 20% discount on everything in-store, excluding new trading cards and LEGO. Additionally, there is a 10% discount on the collection of graded items.
The shop shared on Facebook: “The end of an era, but perhaps the beginning of a new one? TVM Wantage will be closing its doors on January 19, 2025, so we will be offering a massive 20 percent off everything in store until (and including) this date. This excludes all new trading cards and LEGO, and 10 percent off our collection of graded items. Please note, these vouchers will still be valid in our other TVM stores.”
