Students throughout Oxfordshire have reason to celebrate as they received their A-level results and acceptances from notable universities and internships across the United Kingdom. Mixed emotions of relief, joy, and achievement filled school halls and classrooms.
Didcot Sixth Form Leads in A* Grades
Among the top-performing schools, Didcot Sixth Form, a partnership between Didcot Girls’ School and St Birinus School, stood out with impressive scores. Almost 10 percent of all entries from the school received coveted A* grades. Furthermore, 30 percent of student entries gained an A* to A grade, while 62 percent achieved A* to B grades. An astonishing 98 percent of students clinched grades between A* and E.
More than a fifth of students, which accounts for 42 individuals, achieved an enviable average grade of A* or A. James Cross, Director of Didcot Sixth Form, expressed his pride, stating, “We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students. They have proven their work ethic and resilience from the beginning and have shown phenomenal care and support for one another, as well as provided leadership within our school community.”
Raising the Bar: UTC Oxfordshire and King Alfred’s Academy
UTC Oxfordshire in Didcot, a school specialising in science and engineering, also had reason to celebrate. Six percent of all grades achieved were A* to A, with an average A-level grade of D+. Meanwhile, King Alfred’s Academy Sixth Form in Wantage announced that nearly 30 percent of all their grades were A* or A. Among their success stories, twenty students achieved at least one A*, two students achieved an impressive four A* grades, and more than 45 students were awarded an A.
Headteacher Jonathan Smart of King Alfred’s Academy shared his excitement, saying, “This confirms King Alfred’s Academy as one of the highest-performing sixth forms in the region.”

Celebrating Students’ Achievements
Some standout individual performances demonstrated the incredible dedication of students. Arina Bielikova achieved an outstanding score of A* A* A, earning her a place at the University of Middlesex, while Lera Hich secured A* B B and was accepted to Kingston University.
