According to studies conducted by the County Council, the number of residents aged 85 and older in Oxfordshire is expected to rise by 55% between 2017 and 2030. Broomfield also noted the broader fiscal savings, stating: “By 2032, there will be five million people over eighty in the UK. If one in eight of these residents lived in purpose-designed housing, NHS and social care systems could collectively save £2.1 billion every year.”
