Local Lego Club delighted with new Star Wars spaceship toy, thanks to generous donation

The Friends of Grove Library have generously purchased a new plastic construction toy for the local Lego Club. This exciting addition is a replica of Han Solo’s iconic spaceship from the Star Wars movies. The donation comes as a replacement for the library’s original Lego set, which had too many missing pieces for children to complete their projects, despite weeks of effort. The new set has been warmly welcomed by the Lego Club and brings a fresh wave of enthusiasm to its members.

Library manager Kathryn Leech expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the Friends group’s generosity and dedication to supporting both the club and the library. She also encouraged more children to join the fun and creativity the club offers.

The Lego Club meets twice a month, on the first and third Monday, from 4 PM to 5 PM. Sessions are held at the library, conveniently located near Millbrook Primary School in Grove. Open to children in school years five and six, the club provides ample room for new members to take part in its exciting projects. Joining offers kids a chance to share in teamwork, imagination, and hands-on building fun.

The Friends group is also actively seeking new committee members to expand its efforts and continue supporting the local community. If you’re interested in contributing your talents and expertise—or simply want to lend a hand—getting involved with this passionate group is a rewarding way to make a difference in Grove.
