At Makespace Oxford, we are passionate about utilizing physical spaces to catalyze positive change in the world. Our mission is to revive, repurpose, and transform underused spaces in Oxfordshire into affordable workspaces that foster collaboration, connection, and skill-sharing.
Our Beliefs
We believe that the way we utilize and design our public spaces has a significant impact on our communities, environment, and social challenges. Through our work, we aim to challenge the status quo and foster an inclusive, sustainable world that benefits everyone.
Our Approach
By addressing the issue of underused buildings and the lack of affordable workspace, we have found an innovative solution to these problems. We take dormant spaces in Oxfordshire and turn them into temporary affordable spaces to help individuals and purpose-driven organizations deliver a positive impact to local communities.
We foster a nurturing and mutually-supportive community that facilitates connection, skill-sharing and collaboration, allowing residents to accelerate their growth and become more impactful more efficiently. Our work is a catalyst to develop towns and cities that are community-owned, people-centered, and climate-safe, both now and for future generations.
