Charney Bassett History and Archaeology Group

Charney Bassett History and Archaeology Group is an informal group, started in 2016, researching the history, archaeology and family records of Charney Bassett. It publishes its findings on its own extensive website and in 'Charney Chatter' and meets informally on an ad hoc basis in the village at The Village Hall, The Chequers Inn or Charney Manor. Archaeological investigations are carried out with ~20 test pits completed, geophys surveys, 3D laser scanning and dendrochronology. Dates of meetings and archaeological investigations are published in 'Charney Chatter'.
