Nestled in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside sits The Old Bakehouse on the Lockinge Estate. This historic building boasts over 150 years of history, having served for the greater part of that time as the main supplier of bread to the estate and surrounding villages. Although the coal-fired ovens have long gone, the passion for baking remains firmly ingrained in the foundations of our daily bakes.
The Old Bakehouse was established in 1987 by pastry chef Graham Birks, who brought with him a wealth of experience from working in Michelin Star restaurants across the world. Over the years, Graham's passion for baking grew and he went on to establish Sugar & Spice, a wholesale baking company that provided cakes to some of the UK's most prestigious locations, including Kensington Palace and bespoke farm shops.
