Jigworks Ceildh Band is made up of five musicians combining youth and experience and playing a variety of instruments including: Accordion, concertina, flute, tin whistle, fiddle, bass guitar, guitar and bodhran. We have a repertoire of lively Irish jigs and reels as well as other British and European tunes. We interweave tunes and songs with the dances – just in case you need a chance to recover! Our excellent caller matches the dances to your experience, but enjoys making the dances easy and fun for novices and works well with children of all ages. Reasonably priced, and flexible in our programme – just talk to us about your requirements and we will see what we can do. We have our own sound system and caller.
Melobo is a three-piece band based in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
We play rockin’ folk music for weddings, fund raisers, family events, garden parties, festivals…
We can also play quieter background music for your garden party.

Downwind Early Music Consort plays music of mainly the 16th and early 17th centuries on crumhorns, recorders, pipe and tabor, gemshorns, bagpipes and other instruments of the period.\n\nThe Consort performs in period costume and has played for Shakespeare and Pepys themed events, medieval banquets, charity concerts and private receptions.

We are a group of 3 ATS® / Tribal bellydancers based in Wantage, available for charity events, themed nights, festivals and workshops.\n\nWe’re able to theme our performance to what you require by music, costume and choreography, although primarily we dance un-choreographed and completely improvised.\n\nPlease feel free to get in touch!
Pandemonium is a versatile music group based in Wantage, Oxfordshire.\nWe provide musical entertainment for social and fund-raising events, private parties, celebrations and ceilidhs (barn dances). We also play background music to help set the atmosphere at events (e.g. garden parties).\nThe members of Pandemonium sing and play a variety of instruments, including: melodeon, recorder, English concertina, bodhran (Irish hand drum), guitar, bass, violin, piccolo, Irish banjo and mandolin. Our repertoire includes tunes, monologues, recitations, and poetry – serious and light-hearted – and we sing many popular songs. If you have any special requests we will always try our best to oblige.\n\nWherever we play, we tailor our programme to fit the particular event and the emphasis is always on fun and informality.

Wantage Silver Band is a Registered Charity dedicated to education in music by practice and performance and strives for the highest standard by once or twice weekly practices with experienced conductors – but dont let this alarm you – we have a whole lot of fun too.\n\nFor a modest subscription anyone of any age can be taught to play an instrument and work together as a band.\n\nWith a membership of over 150, we have six bands of various abilities. The “A” Band competes in the Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, whilst the B Band competes in the 3rd Section. \n\nOf our remaining four bands Concert Brass does not compete in the National Brass Band Championships, but enjoys playing for fun and entertaining the public. Our Youth Band is an extremely enthusiastic large team of young players, our Adult Beginners Band, Trainer Band and Beginners Band (split into two sections) are wonderful training grounds for brass musicians and percussionists. (You may notice the deliberate mistake here – there are 7 bands mentioned but Adult Beginners actually comprises members from other bands in our organisation!)\n\nAt the present time we are in the midst of building a new bandhall, so our practices take place in a variety of venues in the Wantage area.\n\nWe are pleased to take bookings for our various bands, even playing as far away as Norfolk, Isle of Wight and Derbyshire to name just a few.\n\nWe are a friendly group, and look forward to seeing you at one of our concerts, social events or hopefully as a learner/player.
