Swallow’s Nest guest house, education centre and rural retreat sits tucked away in the rolling downlands of the Oxfordshire/Berkshire borders, Swallow’s Nest is perfectly placed to provide a tranquil haven for horse enthusiasts and riders, walkers and cyclists.

Located at the heart of the 400 acre estate which is North Farm Stud and away from through traffic, Swallow’s Nest is perfectly placed to provide a tranquil haven for horse enthusiasts and riders, walkers and cyclists. Riding enthusiasts from all backgrounds will love the safe, ancient Ridgeway with its dramatic views and blends of different scenery. Non-riders will love the landscape where they can enjoy quiet walks or more demanding pursuits like hill walking/running. There is something here to suit everyone.

At Swallow’s Nest we can offer many different holiday ideas including tailored holidays and/or training packages for riders and their horses together. Alternatively, we can provide you with a suitable mount here. Lessons can be arranged for individuals or groups and for adults and children. Our on-site BHS qualified instructor will help you to learn new skills or tackle old problems. This holiday is “The complete Equestrian Experience” for all levels of rider including those who may not want to ride, but would like to broaden their knowledge of the equestrian world.

With close connections to the world of racing and to thoroughbred ex-racehorse re-homing, Swallow’s Nest is also the perfect place to learn more about the Sport of Kings. Go racing at one of the local tracks – we are very close to Newbury, Ascot, Windsor, Cheltenham and many others. Why not be chauffeur-driven to the course and really make the most of your day?

Swallow’s Nest is also the perfect base for those wanting to explore the Royal County of Berkshire. We are within an hour’s drive of Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle and many other major attractions, as well as the historic cities of Oxford, Winchester and Salisbury. Access is easy – we are within 10 minutes of the M4 (J14), and in easy reach of the A34 and M40.
